Public Relations

PPOS™ is a proactive system that enables brand manufacturers to win the public relations battle of protecting the supply chain. By printing a code that consumers can authenticate on their own, manufacturers do not necessarily depend solely on the rest of the supply chain to implement anti-counterfeit measures. Manufacturers and consumers can interact directly, with the manufacturer seen as the leader in protecting the supply chain.

Market Research

Market research can be an extremely expensive but unsatisfactory proposition for manufacturers. It is quite difficult to gather information about specific consumers, as to their demographics and buying patterns. Typically, a manufacturer spends many hundreds of thousands of dollars to learn about just a handful of consumers.

By providing a PPOS™ website, brand manufacturers create a connection mechanism with consumers of its products. Consumers can utilize the PPOS™ site for authentication. This will give the manufacturers the opportunity to begin a dialog with each consumer, offer coupons, conduct surveys, etc.

The kind of research that can be conducted via PPOS™ can be more extensive in volume for a fraction of the cost of traditional research.

Additional Layer of Brand Protection

PPOS™ enables brand protection on two levels. First, it puts an overt security code on the package, which advertises to both the consumer and the counterfeiter that the package can be easily authenticated by anyone with Internet or phone access. For the consumer, this generates a reputation about the product and the manufacturer of being secure and authentic. For the counterfeiter, this broadcasts the fact that there is a readily available mechanism to detect if the packaging is counterfeit. Counterfeiters target products that have little to no obstacles to reproducing the illusion of authenticity.

On another level, the kind of location data that a consumer can provide about product purchases can be used like a jigsaw puzzle, to determine the patterns of counterfeit movement. Just a small fraction of the actual counterfeits can be submitted to the PPOS™ system in order to develop meaningful trending data.

The overriding key point of PPOS™ is that it does not depend on supply chain participation or pedigrees; just a security code and the consumer.
