PPOS™ Subsystem (Post-Point-of-Sale)
Secure Symbology's patent pending Post-Point-of-Sale (PPOS™) System is an additional feature to the ESC™ System. Built upon common components, PPOS™ allows manufacturers to give consumers a direct mechanism for authenticating their drugs. PPOS™ enables manufacturers to win the public relations battle of the supply chain by protecting consumers, without any dependency on the distributors and retailers.
In addition to PR, the PPOS™ system creates a powerful 1:1 conversation between manufacturers and its consumers; one that far exceeds any existing marketing and research efforts. The system is simply the printing of human readable codes on packaging, combined with Internet-based portals by which consumers can authenticate their medicine.
PPOS™ Components:
Line Level Serialization – Print & Verify Module
Line level serialization is accomplished in the same method as ESC™, using Print & Verify modules, with the exception that the serial number is encoded on package as a “U-thenticate” alphanumeric code. This code is easy for a consumer to type into a website, or to enter with their phone's keypad.
Serialization Database – SSI Data Vault
The PPOS™ serialization database is populated in exactly the same manner as the ESC™ database. In fact, the two are one and the same.
PPOS™ Website
The PPOS website is a manufacturer owned and branded website that registers consumers, records information about their purchases, and authenticates serial codes. This website can offer coupons and, generally, act as a marketing website with a powerful hook.
PPOS™ 1-800 Number
This has the same functionality as the PPOS website, but is enabled via VoiceXML 1-800 phone number, for consumers without Internet access.
